I am proud to come from a family of hard-working people who have been a model of diligence and an inspiration to my work. I am interested in making art that is accessible and relatable to those who may feel excluded from it. I use a variety of media, from kitchen equipment and drills to coloured pencils and Mylar, to create sculptures, drawings, and animations that honour the proletariat.

The use of these unconventional materials, specifically tools, comes from a desire to create familiarity within the work. I find that these objects in themselves give permission and authority to those who may feel unqualified to engage with art.

My wish is for people to see the artistic merit and cultural influence of their daily duties. I have hope that this recognition can offer some joy and reprieve in carrying out the many responsibilities in their lives.
